This Privacy Policy explains how MYGREATHOST GLOBAL SYSTEMS LTD (Company No. 11005955, registered in England & Wales) (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and protects information when you interact with the Wonderful Wishlist application (“the App”).

1. Data Controller

MYGREATHOST GLOBAL SYSTEMS LTD is the data controller for any personal data processed by the App. For data-protection enquiries, contact our Data Protection Officer at dpo-mgs-labs@mygreathost.com.

2. Information We Collect

The App collects and stores the following information:

  • Shopify Customer ID — used to associate wishlists with your account.
  • Product selections — the products you add to your wishlists.
  • Wishlist names — custom names you give to your wishlists.
  • Sharing preferences — whether you choose to make a wishlist public or private.
  • Aggregated analytics — non-personal usage data such as add-to-wishlist counts.

We do not collect passwords, payment details or any sensitive personal data.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

We process personal data on the following legal bases under UK GDPR:

  • Legitimate interest — to provide the core wishlist functionality you expect when using the App.
  • Consent — when you actively choose to share a wishlist or submit your email address.
  • Contractual necessity — to fulfil our obligations to the merchant who installed the App.

4. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to provide the wishlist functionality within the Shopify store where the App is installed. Specifically:

  • Save and display your wishlists
  • Enable wishlist sharing when you choose to share
  • Provide aggregated, non-personal analytics to the store merchant

We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Data Storage & Security

Wishlist data is stored as Shopify metaobjects within the store that installed the App, and is therefore subject to Shopify’s security standards. Analytics data is stored in our secure, encrypted database hosted on Google Cloud Platform. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data.

6. Data Retention

Your wishlist data is retained for as long as the store has the App installed. When the App is uninstalled, session data is deleted and analytics data is purged. Wishlist metaobjects remain in the store under the merchant’s control.

7. International Transfers

Data may be processed on servers located outside the United Kingdom. Where transfers occur, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with UK GDPR requirements.

8. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access your wishlist data (visible in your customer account)
  • Rectify inaccurate data by editing your wishlists
  • Erase your wishlists at any time from your account
  • Restrict or object to processing by contacting the store merchant or our DPO
  • Data portability — request an export of your data
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk

9. GDPR & UK GDPR Compliance

We comply with both EU GDPR and UK GDPR requirements. We process the following mandatory Shopify compliance webhooks:

  • Customer data request — we provide all stored data associated with the customer
  • Customer data erasure — we delete all stored data associated with the customer
  • Shop data erasure — we delete all stored data associated with the shop

10. Cookies

The App uses browser sessionStorage for caching purposes only. We do not set tracking cookies or use any third-party analytics scripts.

11. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
